As the cooler months roll in in Perth, the Gascoyne’s red earth beneath sunny skies beckons and something extraordinary begins to unfold: a food story told across land and sea, smoke and flame, long tables and firepits...
The Gascoyne Food Festival 2025 isn’t just a celebration of what’s on the plate — it’s a love letter to the region’s soul. From coast to country, station to sea, this year’s program invites you to taste the stories of the Gascoyne through a series of unforgettable events.
And whether you're clinking glasses beneath the stars or lining up for a bucket of Exmouth prawns and freshly caught fish and chips on the foreshore, one thread ties it all together: The Taste of the Gascoyne Food Trail.
Flavour at Every Turn
Running across the entire festival period, The Taste of the Gascoyne Food Trail brings together 35 venues — from roadside diners and breweries to beachfront bistros and family run cafes — each creating a signature dish using local ingredients.
It’s a self-guided, region-wide tasting tour. You can explore the trail at your own pace, vote for your favourite dishes, and go into the running for fantastic foodie prizes. It’s local, it’s delicious, and it’s your chance to support the people who grow, catch, cook, and serve the region’s finest.
Carnarvon to Dirk Hartog: A Journey of Fire and Flavour
The 2025 festival opens with a bang in Carnarvon, with the iconic Long Table Lunch (already nearly sold out). Think ocean-fresh seafood, fire-grilled beef, garden vegetables and creative desserts crafted by world-renowned chefs — all set in a lush, sunlit banana plantation on the banks of the Gascoyne River.
From there, the festival flows north and inland — to the rugged station charm of Bullara, Exmouth’s moonlit fiestas and the outback magic of Gascoyne Junction and Mount Augustus. Each location offers something deeply rooted in place: barbecued meats by firelight, beers paired with local prawns, sweet tarts made with bush honey and finger limes.
And just when you think it couldn’t get more special, the grand finale takes you to Shark Bay and Dirk Hartog Island — one of Australia’s most remote and breathtaking culinary experiences. Think island-to-table feasts, gin cocktails with native botanicals, and starlit suppers beside the sea.
