The results are in! The inaugural Taste of the Gascoyne Food Trail received 417 public votes, celebrating the incredible produce and flavours of the region. Each invited eatery served a signature dish using produce sourced from the Gascoyne. Diners were encouraged to vote for their favourite eatery and the results were as follows:

  1. Bullara Station (Exmouth) – Signature dish: Beef Steak Pie

“A lot of blood, sweat and tears goes into our award-winning pies… homemade each day with passion, showcasing our grass-fed Bullara brisket, flank and blade, all cooked slowly in a beautiful red wine gravy.” – Toby Fisher, Head Chef

  2. Exhale (Exmouth) – From Reef to Ranges

“One of the things I love most about cooking in this region is the incredible variety and quality of local produce we have right at our doorstep. The Exmouth bugs are sweet, delicate, and caught right here in the Gulf.” – Gregor Dylus, Head Chef

  3. Miss Fang (Carnarvon) – Special Fried Rice

“As an Asian-fusion restaurant, we use only the freshest local ingredients to create our menu. I am so lucky to be able to source all the vegetables in season right here in Carnarvon direct from the  growers” – Miss Fang, Owner and Chef

Kelly Leonard, Marketing and Tourism Manager Development Manager for Australia’s Coral Coast summed it up perfectly:

“It’s fantastic to see so many food and beverage venues across the Gascoyne come together for the Taste of the Gascoyne Food Trail, showcasing the dedication of our hardworking small businesses. We’re thrilled by the strong public response, with hundreds of visitors voting and sampling the region’s freshest local ingredients.”
