From Carnarvon, the trail leads north to Exmouth, where the wild Ningaloo coastline becomes the festival’s next frontier. On the way, it stops at the legendary Bullara Station, where the Bullara Beef Fest. has already sold out — a testament to its reputation as one of WA’s great station dining experiences.
In Exmouth, it all kicks off with a lively Mexican Fiesta at The Shack on Friday 8 August — smoky, spicy, and full of zest. Then comes a moonlit, beachside banquet at Mantarays Resort on Saturday 9 August. Oysters, Exmouth prawns and woodfired grilled scallops to start; slow-roasted Carnarvon goat shoulder, Exmouth snapper, charred free-range chicken and Bullara sirloin headline the meal overflowing with fresh vegetables, handmade desserts and WA wines. Barefoot dining never felt so indulgent.
Before the festival's biggest party, there’s time for Frothology — Beer & Bites on Friday 15 August. This clever, crowd-pleasing pairing experience matches local brews with unexpected bites: think sticky Endeavour prawns, goat koftas and more. A masterclass for the palate, with a side of laughter and learning.
And then — the now-legendary Whalebone Hoe Down on Saturday 16 August. It’s Exmouth’s big night out: prawn pizzas, dancing under fairy lights, craft beers, guitars, and the warm buzz of community spirit. With boots stomping and spirits high, this year’s Hoe Down brings line dancing into the spotlight — so bring your best two-step and join in. And yes, there might just be a horse at the barf prawns and summery cocktails, it’s a joyful afternoon of celebration and style.
